Ms. Mochizuki joined IGPI after working at ChuoAoyama Audit Corporation. She has been involved in a number of comprehensive support projects that involve activities from strategy planning concerning new businesses for major companies to implementation of M&A and cooperation with external companies. Recently, she has also been engaged in offering advice on launching and operating CVCs and on organizational designs for open innovation projects. In terms of support for ventures, she has handled a wide range of fields from the IT area to the hardcore technology field and saw through many cases from the period of launch of ventures to the exit phase. She also has numerous experiences in supporting major companies' M&A of ventures.

Makoto Shiono is a Partner/Managing Director at Industrial Growth Platform Inc, Chief Investment Officer at JBIC IG Partners and Director of IGPI Technology, Inc. He is also an external director of beBit, Inc. He has been provided strategic consulting and M&A advice for a wide range of corporate and institutional clients in a variety of industries. He has 15 years of experience in private equity investments. He also serves on several government committees. He wrote books on Business, Laws and Artificial Intelligence published in Japan.
He received BA in Law from Keio University and earned master’s degree from the Washington University in St. Louis, School of Law.

Prof. Ogata received B.S., M.S., and D.E. degrees in mechanical engineering from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, in 1993, 1995, and 2000, respectively. He was a research associate with Waseda University from 1999 to 2001. From 2001 to 2003, he was a research scientist with the RIKEN Brain Science Institute, Saitama, Japan. From 2003 to 2012, he was an associate professor with the Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. Since 2012, he has been a professor with the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University. From 2009 to 2015, he was a JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency) PREST Researcher. From 2017, he is a Joint-appointed Fellow with the Artificial Intelligence Research Center, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Tokyo. He served as director of the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ) from 2014 to 2015 and of the Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence (JSAI) from 2016 to 2018. He is currently a director of Japan Deep Learning Association (JDLA) from 2017. His current research interests include deep learning for robot motion control, human–robot interaction, and dynamics of human–robot mutual adaptation.

Dr. Seita received an M.D degree in the School of Medicine, University of Tsukuba, in 1996, completed residency of cardiovascular surgery in 2002, and received a Ph.D. in Medicine, University of Tokyo, in 2006. From that year, he became a postdoctoral research fellow at Stanford University and from 2007 doubled as a research fellow at CIRM (California Institute for Regenerative Medicine). He worked as Instructor at Stanford University School of Medicine, from 2010 and as Research Associate there from 2013. In 2016 he started working as senior research scientist at RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences, before taking the current position. Currently he is concurrently appointed at Center for Advanced Intelligence Project and Center for Integrative Medical Sciences, RIKEN. Since 2018, he is also a visiting scholar at the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, Stanford University School of Medicine.

Graduated from Kyoto University's Faculty of Medicine in 1986. Completed doctoral course at Kyoto University's Graduate School of Medicine in 1992. She has PhD in medicine. After working as assistant professor of ophthalmology at Kyoto University Hospital, she became a post-doc at Salk Institute for Biological Studies in San Diego from 1995. She resumed work at Kyoto University in 1997 and served as associate professor, team leader of retinal regeneration project of Kyoto University Hospital's Translational Research Center from 2001. Starting in 2006, she became project leader of the Laboratory for Retinal Regeneration at RIKEN Center for Developmental Biology. In 2019, she became President of Vision Care Inc. Since 2017, she concurrently serves as doctor and research center chief at Kobe City Eye Hospital, director at the Japanese Ophthalmological Society and Executive Director at the Japanese Retina and Vitreous Society. She has also served in various official posts at entities including the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency.

Dr. Tanaka received B.E., M.E. and Ph.D. degrees, all in mechanical engineering, from The University of Tokyo in 1994, 1996 and 1999, respectively. He became research associate at the Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University in April 1999 and assistant professor at the same entity in April 2001. He worked as associate professor there from April 2003 to July 2013 and became professor in August 2013. He concurrently serves as professor at the university's Micro System Integration Center and Advanced Institute for Materials Research. From January 2004 to March 2006, he concurrently served as fellow at the Japan Science and Technology Agency's Center for Research and Development Strategy. From April 2006 to March 2018, he was concurrently selected fellow at the center. From September 2010 to March 2011, he stayed at IMEC as visiting professor at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. During fiscal 2017, he was president of Micro-Nano Science & Technology Division in The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME). He received the Young Scientist Award among the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology awards in the science and technology field in 2009, the German Innovation Award in 2012 and numerous other awards. He has been engaged in the research of fields including MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems), sensors, acoustic wave devices, piezoelectric devices and materials, integration technologies and MEMS packaging technologies. He is an IEEE Fellow and a JSME Fellow.

Graduated from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at the University of Tokyo in 1997. Completed a doctoral course at a graduate school at the university in 2002. He has a PhD in engineering. From that year he worked as a researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology and since August 2005 he served as visiting scholar at Stanford University. He was associate professor at the Institute of Engineering Innovation, the Center for Knowledge Structuring and the Department of Technology Management for Innovation from October 2007. He served as joint representative and associate professor for the Chair for Global Consumer Intelligence, the Department of Technology Management for Innovation and the School of Engineering at the University of Tokyo from 2014. From 2019, he has served as Professor, Research into Artifacts, Center of Engineering, The University of Tokyo. He specializes in the fields of artificial intelligence, web mining and big data analysis. He has received awards from the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence, including the Best Paper Award in 2002, the Anniversary Project Award in 2006, the Field Innovation Award in 2011 and the Distinguished Service Award in 2013. At the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence, he contributed as student member of the editorial board and member of the editorial board before serving as associate editor-in-chief from 2010 and as editor-in-chief and director from 2012. He took the post of ethics committee chairman in 2014.
We conduct repeated discussions mainly with students who want to turn technology into a form of something concerning topics such as the possibility and methods to realize their ideas, actual hurdles they face and how to secure resources. On starting up and operating businesses, we provide wide-ranged support and offer advice on basic questions and realistic concerns after launching the company.
